I was born in Matamata, New Zealand in 1956 and grew up on my parents’ stud sheep and cattle farm at Walton, near Matamata.
Even though I was brought up in a Christian home, I made my own decision to become a Christian at age 17. Eleven months later, I sensed the call of God to dedicate my farming career to ministry.
Along with preparing for this farm ministry, I have held a number of leadership positions including; youth group leader, both in my own Church and interdominationally, worship leader and have led prison ministry teams. I have also served on the Church Board as a finance and property deacon, and I have also preached occasionally over the years.
I am married to Margie, and together we have been children’s church leaders, home group leaders, have led a young adults’ group, and have been the leaders of Sunday night church services.
Margie and I have two adult children, Rachel and Amanda.
I enjoy horse riding, fishing, golf and tennis as well a number of other recreation activities.
My heart is for people, seeing them come to know Jesus, seeing them grow and develop skills, seeing them have food to put on the table and seeing them be effective in their calling in God.
